Integrated M. S. and Ph. D. Student in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Yonsei University.

I am currently a fifth semester integrated M.S. & Ph.D. student in the Digital Signal Processing and AI (DSP & AI) Lab at Yonsei University, advised by Prof. Hong-Goo Kang. Previously, I received my B.S. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Korea University at February 2024.

My academic interests lie in multilingual speech and natural language processing technologies.

Although more than 7,000 languages are spoken around the world, current multilingual speech models support only a small fraction of them. Motivated by this gap, my long-term goal is to develop truly inclusive and generalizable models that can understand and generate both speech and text across diverse languages, including low-resource languages and even previously unseen ones. To this end, I conduct research spanning a wide range of speech and NLP tasks.

My research has focused on massively multilingual automatic speech recognition (ASR) and text-to-speech synthesis (TTS) covering up to 500 languages . More recently, I have been working on speech tokenization and multimodal large language models (MLLMs) with the goal of building fully duplex, massively multilingual large speech-language models (LSLMs).

Beyond academics, I enjoy listening to music (particularly hip-hop), composing, and attending live performances and music festivals. I am also passionate about weight training, having trained since 2020.

I am always open to networking opportunities and conversations on shared interests—academic or otherwise—so please feel free to reach out!
